In related news, after testing the waters with a spin on The New Music Lab in mid February, 100.3 The Q in Victoria, BC has added “You’re A Star” to their playlist. After a very successful debut release of “All I Wanted”, exit303 is extremely pleased to see their second offering gaining traction.

exit303 opening for the last ever Big Sugar performance at The Bear Children’s Fund New Year’s Bash 2004

With the promotion of ‘into the circle’ in full swing, exit303 has secured the opening slot for The Bear Children’s Fund New Year’s Bash at Edmonton’s Shaw Conference Centre. Also performing on the bill are The Trews and headliner Big Sugar. As this is Big Sugar’s last performance ever, the show is easily expected to sell out.

exit303 is excited to bring in the New Year with two of Canada’s highly respected acts and to be exposing their latest material off of ‘into the circle’ to a substantial and largely unfamiliar audience. Net proceeds from the event go the The Bear Children’s Fund.

exit303 played for a combined audience of over 2,000 people at the ‘into the circle’ cd release parties

exit303 released ‘into the circle’ at two very exciting release parties on Oct 24 and Oct 26. With Edmonton’s 96X heavily supporting the first single off the album and also presenting the show, the attendance was exceptional. According to Mike Dilts, Entertainment Promoter at Reds, the combined attendance of the two events was well over 2,000 people.

With great opening performances by Connors Road on the Oct 24 adult show and by Difinity and Crowded Elevator on the Oct 26 all-ages show, a special video production by the band, and in-performance video imagery provided by Gary Joynes of Clinker fame, these events showed that even Indie bands can attain the production level of the major artists. With the CD officially introduced, exit303 looks forward to continuing the promotion of the album with an aggressive publicity campaign and targeting new markets with live performances.

exit303 Completes Second Album

exit303 finishes mixes on their second album ‘into the circle’

Recorded over the last several months, ‘into the circle’ is comprised of 11 tracks that showcase the songwriting talent of Dean Park and Jay Holterhus. With one of the tracks, ‘You’re A Star’, already garnering the regional 2003 National Songwriting Competition award, and an equally impressive compliment, ‘into the circle’ makes a significant addition to exit303’s catalog.

Once again recording at Braindead Digital, producer/engineer Cameron Ambrose says “Compared to ‘trip to temple’, we’ve produced a much more focussed and sonically solid album. I hope this album shatters all ingrained notions of what an unsigned band is capable of.”

Cameron heads to Toronto later this week to have the album mastered at Metalworks Studios with Brett Zilahi. The band looks forward to a late October release.
